Martha Stewart Living
Raúl writes, A friend of mine called me to say he was coming to have
lunch in the Tower with some 'friends'. Upon arrival he introduced me
to his companions, one of whom was named Martha. We proceeded to the
Tower, did some birding, and later had lunch. Just before the dessert
my friend told me, 'You know, Raúl, this lady is a very influential
woman in the US.'
'Oh, yes,' I replied, 'and what exactly does she do?'
'Well, she is on TV, magazines, and many other activities. Her name is Martha Stewart.'
'Very pleased to meet you,' I replied.
The
picture shows me giving Martha a copy of my sister Cuquita's cookbook.
Cuquita took a course with Martha several years ago in New York. Some
people call her 'the Martha Stewart of Panamá.' It is a small world,
indeed!
All the meals in the Canopy Tower are from my
sister's cookbook, and she also trains the cooks. By the way, Martha
enjoyed the meal very much! It was a cold pasta salad with vegetables
and chicken and sweet plantain. |
