2. The Birds of the Canopy Lodge

This 7-night tour explores the foothills and cloud forests of El Valle de Antón—the home of motmots, tanagers, hummingbirds, antpittas and the mythical Rufous-vented Ground-Cuckoo! A week-long expedition to some of central Panamá's most biodiverse and picturesque forests—led by internationally acclaimed author, lecturer and photographer, Kike Calvo. Enjoy lodging at 2 world-renowned eco-lodges—the Canopy Tower (3 nights), at the pinnacle of breezy Semaphore Hill in Soberania National Park; and the Canopy Lodge (4 nights), in cool El Valle de Anton, with cloud-forested Cerro Gaital Natural Monument as a backdrop. With the practical tools learned in the field from Kike’s innovative and dynamic teaching style, your composition and execution of quality digital photography will take a huge leap forward! 8. Panama's Hawk Migration Spectacular!


Join us for a birding adventure of a lifetime to witness one of the world's greatest avian migration events when literally hundreds of thousands of raptors funnel through the narrow isthmus of Panamá toward their wintering grounds in South America! This amazing migration spectacle will be the centerpiece of a 10-night tour emphasizing the best of Central Panamá birding--and the Observation Deck of the Canopy Tower is the perfect vantage point to witness this migration bonanza! We will enjoy 7 nights lodging at the world-famous Canopy Tower, located atop Semaphore Hill in rainforested Soberania National Park and 3 nights at the award-winning Canopy Lodge, nestled in the cool, cloudforested foothills of El Valle de Anton.
